5 walkers preparing for the start of the Yorkshire 3 Peaks ChallengeCongratulations to Bill for successfully completing the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge to raise funds for Simon on the Streets, on Saturday 27th July! Bill completed the mammoth challenge of the 39.2 km (24.5 miles) triangular route with 1585m (5200ft) of ascent within the challenge time of 12 hours and was delighted with the result, albeit with slightly sore feet!

Simon on the Streets is a Leeds-based charity that supports rough sleepers, individuals sofa-surfing and those at risk of homelessness in Leeds and Bradford. An independent charity, Simon on the Streets relies solely on donations and fundraising and provides essential outreach services for vulnerable service users.

The Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge takes on Pen-y-Ghent (694 metres), Whernside (736 metres) and Ingelborough (723 metres) and has to be completed in less than 12 hours.  These peaks form part of the Pennines and take in the head of the River Ribble valley and the Yorkshire Dales National Park.

Bill was joined by friends and members his business networking group, High Flyers Leeds,  on the challenge, with left to right Natalie Moran, CEO of Simon on the Streets; Samantha Ogden from Flat Fee Recruiter; Adam Chandler from Reel Film and Tom Belt from AAWE. Huge congratulations go to Tom, who finished the challenge first in an amazing time of 8 hours 59 minutes!

Congratulations to all who took part in the event.
